About Us

Choini Cay

We are excited for you to join us at our lovely island paradise! Choini Cay is a beautiful 83 acre private island located in the Exumas, Bahamas.

Your new home is a secluded and remote island in the middle of turquoise waters, a place to relax in complete privacy. Here, you can reconnect with yourself, your family and friends away from the mundane world while our professional service team cares for you.

The island features 6 breathtaking private beaches and many trails to be explored. The marina’s over-water gazebo invites you to swing in a hammock and offers a delightful view of lagoon life through its glass floors. Grab a paddle boards or kayak and explore the mangrove-lined lagoon between the marina and the wild northern part of the island. Our waters nurture, turtles, rays and all kind of birds. For happy hour, guests can take a short climb to our sunset deck for stunning island vistas to experience sunset with a favorite cocktail.

For those who wish to explore further afield, we will be delighted to take you for day tours in the area or arrange with local guides for more adventurous pursuits, like diving, fishing or kitesurfing.

This all-inclusive experience includes a professional chef who will tailor a menu according to your tastes and particular needs. The Cay’s organic garden provides many of the fresh vegetables in the menu and our beloved Choini chickens provide eggs.

Choini Cay Green Initiative

We are committed to preserving our island and for this reason, only 3 of its 83 acres have been developed.
Our solar power system minimizes the island’s carbon footprint and provides 100% of our base operating energy. The island also has a reverse osmosis water purification plant that produces all the water the island uses.

When to Visit

There is no bad time to visit the Bahamas — year-round sunshine and warm weather makes the Bahamas a perfect destination. Weather in the Bahamas is fairly consistent. Average highs from December through May range from the high 70s to low 80s Fahrenheit, and temperatures rarely drop below 60. Summer brings heat in the high 80s to 90s along with humidity, but ocean-cooled easterly trade winds keep the islands comfortable. There are over 300 days of sunshine every year and February is traditionally the driest month. Because of the tropical climate, you can fish, dive and snorkel year-round. You also can comfortably swim in the ocean, as water temperature in the Bahamas rarely dips below 72 degrees near the shorelines.

Getting here

Choini Cay is located a short 10 min boat ride from Staniel Cay. As most private jets can not land at the Staniel Cay Airport due to the runway length, we recommend flying into Nassau, FLL or MIA and then chartering a flight from there to Staniel Cay. We will happily assist you with booking flights and will be waiting at the Staniel airport when you arrive to transport you and your luggage to the island. You can also charter a seaplane straight to the island.

We hope you share our love of this unique island and enjoy everything it has to offer.
